From the beginning we were inspired by their beauty. Parks, landmarks and even resorts set against a canvas of natural splendor. So we set out to do our part to ensure that these treasures would be here for generations. We wanted a system of environmental management that would help us protect these special places, and see that they remain magnificent for years to come.

This sense of stewardship gave rise to GreenPath® a formal, documented and comprehensive environmental management system covering just about everything we could think of to preserve and protect the natural resources at some of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Our associates embraced this program, finding dozens of new ways to conserve resources and protect the environment. Yet, they soon wanted more: to be certain that GreenPath® became a permanent part of our company’s culture, to be assured that we were doing all that we could for the environment, and even to inspire others to follow in our footsteps.

Registration to the standard put forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 14001) emerged as a way of accomplishing these goals. Far from the easiest thing to accomplish or the norm for a hospitality company, ISO 14001 registration would demonstrate Delaware North’s commitment to environmental excellence in the rigorous and formal manner set by ISO.

To date, The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio Delaware North at Grand Canyon, Sequoia National Park, Yellowstone General Stores, Yosemite National Park, Asilomar Conference Grounds (Pacific Grove, CA), The Balsam's (NH), Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa(British Columbia), Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (FL), Niagara Falls State Park (New York), Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite, CA, Delaware North Companies corporate office (Buffalo, NY) and the company’s central reservation office in Fresno, California have successfully achieved ISO 14001 registration.

We’re proud of our record of environmental stewardship and of the recognition that our efforts have received. We are prouder still that others are joining us on the path to a greener tomorrow.
